Can I have overnight guests?
Yes, if approval is given by guardian or responsible family member and after the 90-day evaluation period. Of course family members are welcome anytime but we request that if a family member spends the night you let your Program Director know.
You will not be allowed to have family members, or significant other's move in with you while residing in the program, unless special arrangements are made prior to moving in.
Do you take single parents with children?
Yes, Rehab Pathways Group, is one of the very few programs that will take single parents with children. However, staffing is not responsible for babysitting your children nor can we transport your children anywhere. Additionally, we are sorry to say that children are not allowed to attend RPG community outings. We do, however, allow children as well as other family members to attend some onsite social functions. |

| Common Questions |
What do we do?
We provide semi-supervised residential treatment programs in an apartment setting. These settings are in the community with a diverse residential population. We can also use current living settings (family, marital) to enhance functional independence. We are a “Real Life” alternative to traditional group homes, adult foster care placements and long-term facilities.
|
What is our treatment program?
Our programs are individualized and person centered based on the needs and concerns of our residents. We first complete a Functional Living Evaluation. The team then make recommendations which can include such things as financial skills training, home maintenance tasks, meal preparation and planning, planning, organization and a variety of other skill sets necessary to help the resident become as independent as possible. |

Who is our staff? |
| Our staff includes certified brain injury specialists, life skill trainers, occupational therapists, cognitive therapists, speech and language therapists, recreational therapists, rehab paraprofessionals, and residential assistants. Other treatment professionals are utilized as necessary. All are licensed and registered as necessary.
Who is the "Team?"
First and foremost….our staff.
When appropriate for problem resolution and best possible outcome for our residents, our team gladly works in coordination with physicians, case managers, families, employers, schools and teachers, and other involved professionals.
What is the criteria for entering the program?
Residents must be able to feed, bathe, toilet and dress themselves. They must be able to be on their own without supervision for several hours during the day and night. If in a wheelchair, they must be able to transfer within their apartment independently.
Will I have to share my apartment with anyone?
No.

|
How long must I stay in the program? |
| Rehab Pathways Group is a long-term, semi-independent, residential program and although there are no contracts to sign, we expect a commitment of one year from the new residents. This allows us to view the resident in a wide variety of settings, develop the best plan, implement the plan, make changes as necessary and review the results.
In many instances, given the nature of brain injuries, our residents will reside with us for many years, if not a lifetime.
Can I have pets?
All new residents must complete a 90-day evaluation period. After the evaluation the team will discuss whether or not a pet is appropriate for the resident. If it is decided by the team that a pet is appropriate, then the best pet for the resident will be discussed. We are sorry, but at this time we cannot accommodate dogs.
All animals must be de-clawed, neutered or spayed, and have all appropriate shots. The resident is responsible for all of these costs. Our staff cannot be responsible for the residents pet at any time for any reason, nor can they transport the pet for any reason.
Do you have a medical director?
Yes, our medical director is Nancy Mann, M.D., whose specialty is in Physical Medicine and Rehab. She has significant experience in the brain injury field and is involved in the program and client care on an individual basis.
Our residents are not required to become a patient of Dr. Mann as a prerequisite of admission. |
